The other is the legislative wing, designed to house the state’s lawmakers, Together they comprise a single unit which gives North Dakota as much of beauty and util- ity as is claimed by many other capitols costing millions of dollars more. Plan Fine Park Area Approaching the building from the city of Bismarck, upon whose northern edge it stands, the motor- ist notes the great oval encompassed within the two capitol drives. At present it is a barren field of some 20 acres, but in time it will be one of the most beautiful parks in North Dakota. The federal government has allotted $10,000 for landscaping purposes and erts now are at work designing th: development. The driveways also are the gift of the federal government to the state, the money having been taken from funds allotted for highway construction. Legally they are farm-to-market voads. The structure itself is really in two parts, the administrative or tower section 19 stories high (20 | counting a top floor without win- ‘dows housing certain machinery) and the legislative section which js three stories high. The skeletons of both sections are of steel with Indiana limestone facing.
