Daeffler has served 22 years of a life sentence will be considered by the state board of pardon in October. Daeffler was convicted here of the murder of Mr. and Mrs. Antcn Schill in 1911, to which Eugene Artz, Daeffler’s brother-in-law allegedly confessed in a letter re- ceived recently by the convict, a copy of which was turned over Friday to Probate Judge William M. Ericson by Hugh M. Gillen of Stillwater, Dacffler’s attorney. At the same time Judge Ericson disclosed that Artz, while not in Confession by Another May Bring Pardon to Man Who Served Term prison, is nevertheless paying in severe penalty for the crime to which he allegedly has confessed. Artz is afraid of his shadow, every noise starts him to his feet, the fear that haunts him has turned his hair white and when indoors he keeps shades lowered and doors locked even in daytime, Judge Ericson was told in a letter some time ago. When lest heard from Artz was in Milwaukee. Judge Ericson was prosecuting attorney of the county when Daeffler was arrested for the double murder and at the time he said he had evidence that the actual killing was done by Artz REQUESTS STUDENTS Will Be Impossible After | Opening Day school. | Indications are that the enrollment will be unusually high in all classes this year, Mr. Payne states. phone Mr. Payne at 285 at once, lockers. juniors and seniors. ‘Accordion Man’ Goes Yuma county prospector. cant. ON BRAN New Ruling Corrects All Labels To protect the buying public, the United States F and Drug’ Ad. ministration has advised that eve: package of cereal labeled “Bran” state on the label exactly what it contains. Before this ruling, even part- bran pee ‘were sometimes mis- takenly referred to as “Bran.” It ‘was not easy for the purchaser to distinguish nm a cereal that was entirely bran, or all bran with flavoring, and another that was mostly wheat. lloge’s Att-Bran is labeled “ALL-BRAN Deliciously Flavored with Malt, Sugar and Salt,” a state ment which describes the product fairly and honestly. Kellogg's Att-Bran has won mil- lions ‘riends because it corrects most types of common constipation safely and dork It furnishes generous “bulk”— needed to pro- mote normal elimination.
