Bismarck won the first of the three- game series Saturday night, shutting out the Shop team, 10 to 0 and came back in the first game Sunday to win, 6 to 4. The Northern Pacific repre- sentatives won the finale in eight innings by a 6 to 2 count. Playing listless ball through the first two games the shop team looked like anything, but a first class club and that same hit-and-miss attitude pervaded the local camp during the second contest. Lanier Makes Debut Billy Lanier made his mound debut {n the local lineup, blanking the Shop team for nine innings and allowing only five scattered ‘hits. Aided by perfect support and some sensational fielding, Lanier was never in trouble and coasted along easily on the lead his teammates piled up in the early innings. Quincy Troupe and Red Haley drove out homeruns to add to the total of 11 hits given up by Paul Schafer, Shop team hurler. Cannizzo made a spectacular running ¢atch of Haigh’s long drive into deep right field to rob the N. P. slugger of!a safety in the fifth inning. A brilliant triple play and two dou- ble putouts by the Shop nine failed to halt Bismarck in! the first game Sunday and they won after blasting Michaud from the mound in the first inning with four hits that counted three runs. In the past week the Indians won fcur games in a row, dropped one teugh one, then smashed their way beck into third place Sunday with a double triumph over thé Boston Red Sox, 4 to 2 and 6 to 5.
