Since graduating from his western characterizations, McCoy has been starring in a series of action dramas dealing with the most thrilling phases of present day life. He made “Police Car 17,” in which he was starred as a radio-patrolman, and “Hold the Press,” which presented him as a newspaper reporter. In “Straightaway,” he will be seen as a professional auto racing driver, the champion, who risks his life to save that of his younger brother. The McCoy at the wheel of a racing car. But to Jack Dunn, soundman with Fox Film's expedition into the Asia- tic jungles, goes the honor of experi- encing the most exciting and most dangerous of incidents. Working on the Fox film, “Devil Tiger,” in which nature's most amaz- ing spectacles will be brought before the theater-going public, Dunn went through a few moments of horror that probably go unequalled in motion pic- ; ture history. He was in the midst of | recording the sound of a battle be- | tween a black panther and a feroci- ous tiger, gathering the treacherous nuances of their fight in his ear- | phones, when the panther suddenly | deserted his natural adversary and | leaved—. But let Dunn tell it in his own way. | This is an excerpt from a letter writ- ten by him in Singapore: “I am writing this with my left | hand, only due to the fact that I was mauled by a black panther a couple of weeks ago, and my right arm is still out of order. The thing jumped right on my head, and hung on by teeth and claws till the shooter came and shot it off. I got some severe bites WUGGY-WOO SURE MADE A SAP OUTA YOU WITH THAT WITNESS!
