Nineteen years ago, in 1914, the idea for the picture was born, when aviation was in its infancy, compara- tively, and talking pictures were un- dreamed of. Brock was in Rio de Janeiro at the time, supervising the introduction of motion pictures. Im- Pressed with the cxotic beauty of the Brazilian capital he determined some |day to make a movie there, exploiting Rio's romance, architecture, scenic beauty, novel music and dances. Through the years the original idea |gtew and took definite form as avia- tion progressed and pictures improv- ed, until finally, early in 1933 the in- spiration assumed definite, tangible form as an aerial movie musical, and Production was begun on an elaborate scale, with preliminary scenes taken at Rio de Janeiro itself.
