Sammons Sentenced To Life in Prison Crown Point, Ind., Dec, 1.—(#)—For the second time in his varied career of crime James “Fur” Sammons, kill- er, rapiat and Chicago public enemy, Friday faced the prospect of spending the rest of his days-in prison. ‘The sentence was the state of In- diana’s Thanksgiving Day present to him and, unlike the first time that Sammons went up for life 30 years ago in Illinois after escaping the gal- Idws by a day for a murder, it result- ed from a comparatively minor charge attempted bribery of an officer.
