HOLDS POOR TIRES CAUSE: OF MISHAPS Local Dealer Cites Insurance @ompany Report As Proof of Statement Accidents in which defective tires are involved are on the increase in the United States, according to M. B. Tropical Disturbance Nears Florida Coast Miami, Fla., July 28—()—South- eastern Florida prepared itself today against a tropical disturbance slowly moving coastward from some four hundred miles to the east. Weather reports indicated the storm likely would approach the raainland some time tonight unless it veered, and residents were warned to be ready to board up windows and prepare for any eventuality. Late report said the disturbance was travelnig about 15 miles an hour to the northwest of Great Inagua with winds of hurricane velocity over a small area near the center. Vessels in its path were warned last night to take necessary precautions. The storm was noted several days ago in the vicinity of St. Christoper in the lesser Antilles. Six persons were reported killed at St. Chris- topher.
