P. Schulberg, leading pro- ducer, has enjoyed the experience of geeing newspaper headlines paraliel- ing a motion picture. The picture is “The Girl in 419,” romantic drama which comes to the Paramount Theatre Wednesday with James Dunn and Gloria Stuart in leading roles. The film centers around @ girl, brought into an emergency hospital badly beaten and unconscious and saved by the head of the hospital, who is intrigued by her beauty. When she recovers, she begs not to be sent cut of the hospital, pleads for pro- tection. Miss Stuart is “The Girl in 419” and Dunn is the doctor who ultimately straightens out the tangled life—and his own. Others in the cast are Da- vid Manners, Jack LaRue, Shirley Grey, Johnny Hines and William Harrigan. Ann Hardy and Bud Murray, to avoid the vigilant eyes of Ann’s hus- band, Speed, soar aloft in an airplane. Speeding through space side by side in the narrow cockpit they know, they forget all flights must end. Suddenly, the motor sputters, gasps and dies. Bud makes a forced landing in a small ravine and wrecks the ‘plane. Chancing the outcome, they remain overnight in a mountain cabin. When found by Speed in the morning, Speed pretends to be friend- ly, but proposes a new stunt to be performed with him by Bud which is designed to kill Bud. Heart-throbbing drama and spec- tacle pervade “Flying Devils.” Rus- Sell Birdwell directed the picture from WHAT'ER YA DOIN’ OUT HERE? RUNNIN’ TH’ FLEA ciRcus! \ Jest came OUT ToTEL!
