Montgomery is said to have another high-speed comedy role as Jeff Bid- well, super-fixer, “wise guy” and de- Donair gambler who hoodwinks so- ciety and reaps a harvest on Broad- way. The unusually strong cast also fea~ tures Madge Evans as the ex-wife who tries to help Montgomery decide a course of action during his mad career as a high-pressure public relation’s expert, and the supporting players in- clude the comic Eugene Pallette, C. Henry Gordon, Jean Parker, Ivan Lebedeff, David Newell, Vince Bar- nett and Joseph Cawthorn. “Made on Broaway” is based on the story, “Public Relations,” written by Courtenay Terrett, one of New York’s best-known newspapermen who wit- messed many “inside” scenes during his years of metropolitan reporting in one of the city’s most colorful ad- ministrations.
