BOARD CONSIDERING LIGNITE COAL BIDS PORN. D, BUILDINGS Gas Company Offers Its Fuel For Use At Prison and Other Institutions CAPITOL —SETHEATRE = Daily, 2:30 - 7:15 -9 ‘Adults 25c For This Attraction TONIGHT The First Big The task of tabulating numerous) bids for furnishing lignite coal for the new capitol building, the state peni- tentiary and various other state in- stitutions was under way Friday in the board of administration. As the bids, submitted Thursday, were being tabulated, indications were the cost of the fuel would be close to the amount paid last year, board members said. { At the same time the Montana- Dakota Power company submitted a proposal to furnish natural gas for all purposes. including heat, at the capitol building, penitentiary, train- ing school and Dickinson normal school. James Trimble, division manager of the power company here, in submit- ting the proposal said if it is accept- ed, the company will extend its pipe lines into North Dakota to take gas from wells already drilled and ready to produce within the state. In the event sufficient gas is not available to supply such extension, he inform- ed the board, the company will agree to sufficiently encourage the produc- tion of gas within the state available to its lines to permit of its purchas- ing or producing in North Dakota an amount of gas equal to the amount sold and delivered under the proposal. Trimble said use of natural gas in the four institutions would effect a saving of $16,594 a year. The company proposes to furnish natural gas for all purposes, at 15 cents per 1,000 cubic feet, and to fur- nish all necessary pipe, service lines, burners and other necessary equip- ment to properly equip boilers for burning of natural gas for a rental charge of $50 a year for each institu- tion. Va., July 7.—(P)— Dr. Clara Clendon, of Cleveland, lost her purse near Parkersburg and silently said good-bye to about $1,000. E. L. Ward of Charleston saw a pocketbook on the highway. He reported his discovery to the Charleston Auto club. Dr. Clendon was reached at her Charleston hotel and the purse returned. Ward's comment was “I figured the owner was going to Charleston be- cause of the position of the pocket- book in the road.” TROUBLEMAKING WIFE Milwaukee—A family quarrel so enraged the wife of a Milwaukee man that she called police and divulged an eight-year-old secret —accusing her husband of fleeing the scene of a fatal automobile accident in 1925.
