AT THE MOVIES “Sailor's Luck” to Have Showing Here At Paramount Theater) Fox Film's “Sailor's Luck,” fourth co-starring vehicle of James Dunn} and Sally Eilers, comes to the Para- mount Theatre tomorrow for an en- gagement of two days. Besides Dunn and Eilers, the com- plete cast includes Victor Jory, Esther Muir, Sammy Cohen, Will Stanton, Frank Moran, Lucien Littlefield, Bus- ter Phelps, Curley Wright, Jerry Mandy, Germaine de Neel, Phil Tead, Frank Atkinson, Matt McHugh. “Sailor's Luck” probably leans more to comedy than any previous team picture of the well-known sereen pair. The story concerns a bunch of “gobs” on shore-leave and their romantic adventures while “dame-chasing.” Comedy, for the most part, is sup- plied by Sammy Cohen, Will Stanton, the tipsy gent in “Me and My Gal,”; and Frank Moran, former heavyweight: boxer. All are cast as sea-faring pals of Dunn. The action taxes the sailors every- where from a hilarious comedy scene in a swimming pool to a battering zang fight in a marathon dance hall. Eatwined throughout is the tender romance of Dunn and Eilers. Raoul Walsh directed from the story and screen play by Marquerite Roberts and Charlotte Miller. It’s there, in plenty! Right before your eyes, pretty Josie La Tour, world-famous aerialist, is stricken in a strange way while she whirls and swings high up in the Big Top, Any one of thirteen individuals might have caused her death. The trick is to pick out the guilty one. Solution of the Mystery? Leave that, to Thatcher Colt, the debonair Police | Commissioner. Everyone knows Colt, through the Anthony Abbot novels narrating his exploits. He’s one of | those society-sleuths, of the type of ; Philo Vance. It was from the Abbot stories that this picture was adapted. Thrills? Fun? There's an ample measure of both, what with daring aerial acts, ludicrous clowns, wild animal performances—and over the whole show a brooding sense of dis- aster, since the|episodes shown on the screen happen] on that dread day, Friday, the thirteenth.
