Swett, Kidder county, house majority lead- er, with direct reference to the pro- posed “secession” resolution. His criticism followed objections of members to language used in a re- solution up for amendment. L. L. Twichell, Cass county, said he dis- liked the resolution urging adoption of the Frazier and Patman bills be- cause the author laid the blame for the depression to the “conspiracy of the officials of the Republican ad- ministration.” Swett said it was time the legisla- ture quit proposing such resolutions. “There are too many of this sort be- ing introduced,” he said. A few minutes later Wm. Crockett introduced a resolution urging reg- istration of lobbyists or imprisonment should they fail to register but on warning of Twichell that the resolu- tion failed to define lobbyists and might crowd the jails and prisons if enforced, it was tabled.
