A word, however, by way of editorial com- ment is necessary. There is an inference in the letter that the address of William Langer at New Rockford was garbled. That is resented because it is untrue. The Tribune printed, in common with very daily newspaper of the state, The Associated Press re- port of that address. The New Rockford newspaper, which is a militant supporter of William Langer, ran the address substan- tially as it appeared in the col- umns of this newspaper. This newspaper is independent in its treatment of political de- velopments. It is not foolishly or blindly partisan in the support of any candidate or group. Among its ers are adherents of all political groups. Our aim is to present the news fairly and fear- lessly and through editorial com- ment explain certain trends to our readers. We hope to com- mend the good and denounce the bad as we see it. With dema- gogery and cheap political sophis- try we have no sympathy. It is our objective, within our lights, to commend and be sympathetic to those things which will better North Dakota and her citizens. sins, 4-lb.
