TWO SLOPE YOUTHS AWARDED FREE TRIP New Salem and Washburn Boys } Among Four Who Will go Four of North Dakota’s more than 6,200 4-H club members will visit Washington, D, C., June 15 to 21, to attend the national 4-H club camp. They will camp in the shadow of the Washington monument with del- egates from 44 states. Announce- ment of the selection of delegates was made today by H. £. Rilling, state club leader, of the Agricultural college. They are Mary E. Widdifield, Leal, Barnes county; Marion D. son, Grand Forks; Walter Gaehe, New Salem, Morton county; and Milton A. Sauer, Washburn, McLean county. All have been active 4-H club work- ers three years or more and promi- nent in the programs of their organ- ization. Expenses for the journey are being borne by contributions from railroads, commercial concerns, the home communities pf the delegates and by the dele themselves. Selection as a delegate to the na- tional club camp is one of the most, distinetive recognitions which may be earned by North Dakota 4-H members. Qualification for the awards is dependent upon a consis- tently high record of accomplishment in_ail branches of club work. Both Mary Widdifield and Marion Pederson are clothing club members and have held important offices in their respective ‘clubs. They have taken part in the activities of their local groups as well as in the pro- grams of the county and state organ- ization. Mary is assistant leader of her club and has organized another club of which she is leader. Marion is vice president of the state 4-H Achievement Institute.
