Miss Gusta Larsgaard closed a term of school Friday when she and her pupils enjoyed a picnic dinner. Miss Larsgaard’s father came here later in the day and took her to her home at Aneta. It has not yet been decided who will teach Crofte rural schools next fall, as it may be necessary to ‘close one of them. Fire last week-end burned consid- erable pasture grass belonging to Ros- ‘coe Bowman and Dewey Lawler and threatened buildings on the Lawler farm before neighbors assisted in ex- tinguishing the flames. Flames spread when Bowman burned stubble from one of his fields. Miss Hazel and Lester Mausehund, attending high school at Linton, spent the week-end at their parental home. Mr. and Mrs. John Ohlhauser, sr, met with an auto accident Wednes- day forenoon several miles south of Linton while on their way to Eureka, S. D. Mrs, Ohlhauser was to receive medical treatment there. The driver of a truck which Ohlhauser was pass- ing pulled over toward the left side of the road, forcing Ohlhauser to the ditch. The car rolled over. The driver of the truck assisted Ohlhauser in getting his wife extri- cated from the wreck and helped to get the car righted and back into the road. After returning to Linton the injured woman was treated by a phy- sician and brought to her home here. Mrs. Ohlhauser received a bad bruise on her head and leg and also suffered from shock. Ohlhauser was unin- jured.
