FT oy ag D, Board Opposes Switching Charges The North Dakota Railroad com- mission has formally intervened in the complaint of the Chicago Live- stock Exchange against the switching charge of $2.70 per car at the Union stock yards in Chicago on livestock . from North Dakota and other states. President Ben C. Larkin of the state commission will support the complaint | at an Interstate Commemrce’ com- mission hearing at Chicago May 27. “The question of extra switching charges at public stock yards, Larkin said, “has been before the I. C. C. in the general livestock investigation for several years, but so far a decision favorable to livestock shippers has not been obtained. It is expected that as a result of. this new complaint the switching. charges at’ the Chicago Union stockkyards will be ordered cancelled by the Interstate Commerce commission.” IMMUNIZED IN MANDAN More than 300 Mandan children re- ceived their first inoculations for im- munization against typhoid, smallpox or diphtheria.
