Market Report for Mon., Nov. 16° PRICE OF SHARES DRIFIS LOWER IN | New York Stocks NEW YORK STOCKS Closing Prices Nov. dg Adams Express UNCERTAIN TRADING sis Upturn in Wheat Contrasts With [a . Drop 'in Silver; Bonds Under Pressure New York, Nov. 16—(7)—An upturn in wheat, contrasting with a slump in silver bullion, provided a confusing background for the securities market Monday and share prices drifted low- er after uncertainty in early trading. Copper, electrical equipment, rail and public utility issues were con- spicuously heavy. The bond market also was under pressure in spots. The German issues were but mildly influ- enced, however. Westinghouse Electric was sold in considerabel volume market, dropping more than 4 points. Issues losing 2 or more included American Telephone, New York Cen- tral, Southern Pacific, American Smelting, while issues losing a point or 80 included U. S. Steel, Genera: Electric, American Can, North Amer- ican, International Nickel. Kennecott, International Silver and others. Ra- fg ‘dio and Radio Keith sagged fraction- ally to new lows, Raido Keith selling under 3, in contrast to the year’s high of 24%. Persistent weakness of the rail shares dragged the market down in the final transactions. The closing, tone was weak. Sales were about, 1,500,000 shares. > —_——— * Cont.
