Plan Bird Refuges For North Dakota A party of the bureau of biological survey of the United States Denart- ment of Agriculture is making ex- aminations of areas suitable for mi- ratory bird refuges in North Dakota, according to word received by Burnie Maurek, state game and fish com- missioner. The party is headed by Albert J. Rissman, connected with the bureau. Mr. Rissman advised the game and fish commissioner that he had ex- amined Long Lake, southeast of Bis- marck, Lostwood Lakes, north of Lostwood, and Des Lacs Lakes, near Kenmare. The examining party is now located at Rolla engaged in sur- veying an area 15 miles northeast of Rolla. Examinations are being made in an effort to select suitable areas for mi- gratory bird refuges as provided un- der the Migratory Bird Refuge Act adopted in Congress in 1929. Pros- pective refuges are being inspected in various parts of the country.
