Langdon ran amuck when one of the officers attempted to' serve a lunacy warrant on him after he al- legedly had threatened to kill a neighbor. The farmer met the of- ficers with a sawed-off shotgun in hand and when the officer retreated to get assistance, barricaded his home. Sheriff John C. Risher and County Detective Elmer Darling led the at- tack to drive Langdon from the builging. The threw tear gas bombs and fired into the build- ing, while Langdon answered with his shotgun.
