Mr. Pickton has held high offices in the Masonic lodge, ard has lived to see the order grow fron a modest beginning to its present importance in @ state which was known as Da- kota Territory when he esttled in it, at Fargo, in 1879. For 6 years he was a tailor at Fargo. Dean of all members of the order in point of age, Mr. Pickton has held the highest office the lode could of- fer him in his section. He was grand high priest of the Royal /rch Masons | of Dakota Territory duriig 1877, the territory then embracing all of what now comprises the states of North and South Dakota.
