THE BISMARCK TRIBUNE, FRIDAY, AUGUST 15, 1930 | NYE COMMITTEE WILL CONVENE QN AUG. 23 Chicago Will Probably Be Scene | of Meeting to Hear Evidence on Election Expenditures | Fargo, N. D., Aug 15—(4)—Senator Gerald P. Nye of North Dakota has called a meeting of the senate elec- tions investigating committee for August 23, “at some place central to committee members,” he announced last night. Immediately after this meeting, called to lay plans for investigation of various elections, the committee will make an effert to complete the Ne- braska and Illinois inquiry at once. The Nebraska primary probably will be taken up first, he said. There is a possibility both investigations will be carried on at Chicago. Senator Nye said numerous com- plaints of exorbitant expenditures in the Colorado campaign had been re- ceived from both sides but no an- nouncements of the committee's in- tentions would be made until investi- gators, now in that state, make their report.
