-THE BISMARCK TRIBUNE, THURSDAY, AUGUST 7, 1930 ‘ 8 ~ PATEFUL MYSTERY sible; Lawyer's Papers Un- der Kitchen Floor ‘The tourist camp has produced a mystery which might imply murder, suicide or robbery—at least a disap- pearance—and Chris J. Martineson, chief of police, is trying to unravel the puzzle. Wednesday, Frank Schwemmer, camp custodian, while making repairs, found concealed under the camp kitchen floor, a package of papers. When examined they turned out to be four certificates of admission to practice in higher courts granted to John R. Hadley, a small leather- bound memo book containing finan- cial entries, a deposit book on the First National bank, Tulsa, made out in she name of the Pleasant Hill Oil company, slips indicating advances of |; money in the settlement of an estate and a note given by Hadley to the oil company, May 24. 1920, payable | June 24, 1920, in the amount of $8,000 at 8 per cent. There is no indication of how the papers got to the place where con- cealed. Schwemmer knows of no John R. Handley stopping at the camp. A certificate of admission to prac- tice in the Oklahoma supreme court of date of December 30, 1913, indicates that Hadley was a resident of Cush- ing, that' state, at the time. It is signed by Samuel W. Hayes, chief |; Justice, and W. H. L. Campbell, clerk. Another certificate admits Hadley to practice before the Indiana su- AT TOURIST CAMP Murder, Suicide or Robbery Pos- Trespasser,” portrays a leading role, and Lila Lee, beautiful, beloved and talented screen actress, plays the principal feminine role. The other featured characters are enacted by such notables of the stage and screen as Montagu Love, Ned Sparks and George MacFarlane, |while Tom Jackson, Charlotte Walk- er, Edythe Chapman, William V. Mong and Thomas Jefferson make ‘up the supporting cast. The story deals with the emotional relationship of a boy and girl with their exalting love set against men- acing influences that threaten to draw them back into an atmosphere of criminal action, Two songs, which have a direct bearing on the story, are sung by Miss Lee, One of them is “My Lonely Heart,” by Charles Wake- field Cadman and William Kernell, and the other is “Show Me the Way,” by Kernell. Both were composed especially for this production. Plan to Gravel Road In Sheridan County Hopes for the permanent recovery of Keith McClelland, seven, son of Mr. and Mrs, W. F.
