Caesium, rubidium and lithium generally occur together in nature, it is pointed out. Silvery white and of very light weight, they tarnish rapidly in air. ~ Discovered through use of the spec- troscope, caesium and rubidium are employed in the manufacture of photo-electric cells. Caesium is find- ing use in the manufacture of radio tubes. Lithium is widely employea for medicinal purposes, In pyrotech- nics, lithium chloride is used to give a crimson color to fireworks and sig- nal lights. Although the mineral from which these three metals may be extracted are distributed rather widely in na- ture, the known minerals and Geposits rich enough to furnish large supplies. are few, bureau chemists say.
