The first 99 districts reporting to Milton K. Higgins, Mandan, supervi- sor, have a population of 21,723. Figures for 1920 in 10 of these dis- tricts are not available, however, and comparison for them cannot be made. Twenty-two districts of 35 which were reported this morning showed increases for the 10 years, 11 showed decreases, and two had no 1920 fig- ures for comparison. Total increase in the 33 districts was 411 persons. A drop of more than 45 per cent in the population of Marmarth, Slope county, is the most startling that has been reported from the 12 counties in Mr. Higgins’ territory so far. In 1920 Marmarth had 1,318 residents; today it has but 722. Four other cities and villages re- porting today showed increases.
