J. ‘April 17.—(P}— Henry Campbell Close, 62-year-old former advertising man and pseudo physician, dies tonight in the electric chair for the “torch” murder of & woman he married bigamously. His victim was Mrs. Mildred Mowry, a widow, of Greesnburg, Pa. who, not knowing he had a wife and three children in Elizabeth, N. J., married him, and met death when she insisted he make a home for her. Close’s attorneys pleaded that fi- nancial failure and drug addiction had driven him to insanity. He has been using the names of Henry Colin Campbell but during the trial it de- veloped his real name was Close. D., April 17.—M-R township, Dunn county, is a thing of the past following the election for dissolution conducted there last July, it has been decided in district court here by Judge Thomas H. Pugh. However, the township board refused to dissolve and allow the county to assume the business on the grounds that the law provided such dissolution movement should receive a majority of the legal votes in the organized | township and that there were 56 voters in the district. Rudolph Rohlik, representing the group demanding dissolution, brought action against the township board and contested the legality of some of the voters. The plaintiff won the case of proving that two of the voters claimed by the board were residents of the city of Dickinson and a man- damus runs to the county auditor of Dunn county requiring the county to take over the business of the former M-R township as dissolved.
