In the after- noon a fire was noticed between the store and bank, and after a bucket, brigade was formed it was soon out, but had it not been noticed it might have been bad, as it was near the gas tank. A little while later a report was heard on the butte, and, looking over that way, a big smoke was seen to rise. Upon going over there, C. E. Moffit found it had been set by a number of boys, 15 and up. If there had been a wind everything in the east country would have burned, 2s the grass is heavy at this place and if it had got a start nothing could have stopped it. Everyone should be very careful not to set out a fire. Jim Hill took his wife and children to Jamestown Tuesday to take the train for Brinsmade, where they will visit for some time with relatives.
