It pro- vides for $50,000 to be kept intact for two hundred years at compound in- terest. The will is that of Will H. Latta, Indianapolis, street railway company attorney who was killed last Wed- nesday night when an automobile he was driving was struck by a passenger train near Carmel, Ind., at the time he was en route to Fort Wayne where he was to marry Miss Emma Mar- guerite Sander. Miss Sanaer was given one-fourth of the remainder of the estate after the public bequests. Latta wrote the will in longhand six days before his death. Depaw University, the art associa- tion of Indianapolis and the city of Ligonier, Ind., are the only public beneficiaries now \in existence... The others are created in the will. Among the bequests to be avail- able 2129 are approximately $35,000,- 000 to establish the “Carrie Hunt Lat- ta Memorial Library” in Indianapolis in memory of his wife; $35,009,000 to establish an’ Indianapolis conserva- tory of music; endowment of $35,000,- 000 for the art association of Indiana- polis; $17,500,000 to build community centers adjoining each grade school; building in Indianapolis; endowment of $17,500,000 for Depaw University; about $47,000,0c0 to establish and en- dow “Latta University” at Ligonier, the institution to be operated by the Methodist Episcopal church.
