The examinations for the school children were delayed on account of the teacher not getting here, due to heavy rains. Some of the pupils took in other townships, while some did Not get to take all of them. We hope this will not occur again. Several farmers are still breaking and seeding flax. Delbert Davis and wife have rented @ farm in Rock Hill township and moved there. This is a cold spring for turkeys and chickens. Most of the ladies are loosing quite a few of them. Thelma Nord is still staying with her sister, Mrs. Bert Hedstrom. L. W. Davis took Earl Davis, wife and son to Bismarck Sunday. Earl has work in Bismarck. Arne Tosseth is going to break some sod for L. W. Davis. Station Davis is working for Alvin Spangberg. Some of the city ladies are ou: in the country picking greens. Ella Krause is working down near Menoken. H. B. Gills was shopping in Wilton Saturday evening. Mrs. John Nieland gave seventh grade state cxaminations at Boyd school No. 1 Monday and Tuesday. Mrs. Edith Bruce and little daugh- ter left by motor for Bonners Ferry, Idaho, the first of the week. Mrs. Bruce will teach near Sandpoint, her school starting early in June. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Dorman and Robt. Welch were Bismarck visitors Monday. The wind has been doing a great deal of damage in this community by the sand cutting the grain off. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Doppler motored to Bismarck on business Tuesday. They called at the Robt. Welch home Tuesday evening. There seems to be an epidemic of ; Stomach trouble in the community, several families complaining. It seems | to bother the children most. There was a large crowd in Regan Saturday evening to see the cighth graders receive their diplomas. A foot time was had by-all who were ere. D. L. Davis bought a tractor end plow from Speeten. They made a trip to Bismarck and north of Re- gan to see the tractor demonstrated. Delbert is a carpenter and contractor by trade. We wonder if he won't for- get and try to build it into a house. They plan on living on a North Da- kota farm, Mrs. Davis has lived in Kansas City all her life and clerked in @ drug store for eight years. We hear rumors that people from the south are coming to North Da- kota for homes. There are plenty of vacant farms here and one can make good in Burleigh county, if they work and do not hire their work done.
