Figures for 1928, compiled by In- surance Commissioner S. A. Olsness, show that 25,339 policies totaling $50,050,701.76 were written during the last calendar year and that insurance companies doing business in the state now have in force 134,763 policies with @ face value of $272,433,022.05. Never before in the history of the state has the amount of life insurance written in one year reached the $50,000,000 mark, Olsness said. The net increase in the number of policies in force, as compared with 1927, is slightly more than 10,000.
