The great crowd dis- persed as if reluctantly and made its way home what might have been had not the great captain whose coffin they had looked upon for the last time stood between them and peril. Last Bugle Blast” Sounds Over Body Of Marshal Foch (Continued from page one) Berthold Indian agency were forced to leave their homes by flood water. Inspection of the ice jam below the cities of Bismarck and Mandan was made today by army officials who flew over the ice pack in an airplane. Citizens of the two North Dakota cities were anxiously awaiting the ar- rival of a number of army bombing planes and 55 tons of high explosive bombs with which it is to blast the huge ice jam from its posi- tion. Roberts predicted that the level of the river here, which has been sta- tionary at two and a half feet below the flood stage since last night, will begin to rise here about noon and that the flood which he has been pre- -|dicting may be in evidence before 9999999998809989 53 96% @1.03% BISMARCK GRAIN (Furnished by Sereno yl Co.) nightfall. If the Jam at Mannhaven continues to hold, however, it is possible that the anticipated flood will be still further delayed. Red Cross Queried A query was received today by the Burleigh county Red Cross from the St. Louis headquarters of that organ- ization, asking what steps had been taken to relieve prospective flood sufferers. To date there are none, the only persons having suffered heavy losses being farmers whose land along the river has apparently been washed away. A number of persons have been forced to leave their homes in the river bottom but these are compara- tively few and are being cared for by friends and relatives. Apparently there has been no suffering from privation and the present level of the river has affected relatively few per- sons. A big rise in the water level, how- ever, would inundate a part of the city of Mandan. 4) Herbert Hoover Has run very light, fat/Oats LIBERTY BONDS CLOSE New York.
