FRIDAY, MARCH 22, 1929 LEADING EDUCATORS ” SPEAKING AT MINOT North Dakota and Minnesota College Representatives on Program for Talks Minot, N. D., March 22.—(#)—Edu- cators of North Dakota and Minneso- ta colleges were to speak today before the northwest division of the North Dakota Education association, at its 24th annual convention. On today’s speaking program were Miss Bertha Palmer, state superinten- Ment; Miss Leila C. Ewen of the Minot “state teachers college; Dr. Fred Von- bergersrude, University of North Da- Kota; Miss Huldas Winsted, Minot, president of the North Dakota Edu- \ cation association; Dean Joseph Ken- nedy, University of North Dakota, and Dr. Julius Boraas, St. Olaf college, Northfield, Minn. Dr. Roy L. Smith, pastor of Simp- son Methodist church, Minneapolis, was the principal speaker at last night’s session. The convention will end tomorrow with election of offi- cers and adoption of resolutions. Other speakers at the yesterday were Superintendent L. A. White of the Minot city schools; C. L. Glod- ding, Velva, president of the North- west association, and Carl Gilbertson, Kenmare, past. president. LUTHERAN MEN'S * CLUB ORGANIZED Organization of the Lutheran Men's club of Bismarck was compieted at a meeting conducted at the Grand Pa- cific hotel last night. Officers of the new organization follow: T. G. Plomasen, president; O. E. Johnson, vice president; Clifford Johnson, secretary; and Earl Knudt- 3on, treasurer. To maintain a definite constructive arogrem of activity of Lutheran men of the city is the object of the new organization. T. H. Thoresen presid- ed at the meeting. Short talks were given by-H. O. Saxvik, C. E. Fritz, Myron Anderson, A. N. Ellingson, John Husby, and Rev. iQ. 8. Rindahl, pastor of Trinity Luth- eran church. 8. A. A. Maser of Dickinson ani Emil Krauth of Hebron were there and explained the advantages, some of which are lower insurance rates and sanitary house conveniences. The proposal follows the lines of improvements installed at Hebron, also as the result of a referendum and bond issue.
