Corn and Oats Firm as High Winds and Severe Cold Cut Crop Estimates Wheat closed weak, lc to 1 1-20 net lower, (March $1.25 to 1-8, May 1.28 1-2 to 5-8, July 1.90 1-4 to 3-8). Corn lc to 1 1-2 to 1 5-8 down, tracted special notice of wheat trad- ers today on account of unfavorable crop advices. Some Kansas points sent word of wheat fields completely covered with ice which has been solid | 1+ for more than a weck when rain froze as it fell. This condition was said to extend amout 140 miles west into Kansas and to be general over north- western Missouri and northeastern Kansas and southewstern Nebraska. A; agains bullish advices about do- n.estic crop conditions, news was at hand today that world shipments of wheat this week will again show up large. In particular, the clearances from countries outside of North America indicated an increase of 2,000,000 bushels over last week. ‘There were also reports of excelint rains in most parts of India, apper- ently assuring good yields of wheat. WHEAT BREAKS AFTER FALSE MOVE UPWARD Minneapolis, Jan. 26.—()—Wheat broke sharply late today after a false move upward early in the session. Oats were quiet and firm within a narrow range. May barley was quiet end easy. May rye started firm and turned lower. May flaxseed advanced 1% cents and fell back. Cash wheat offerings were small and demand was fair to good. Pro- tein around 12 per cent was firm to 1 cent better. Top protein was steady. | Sears Off-grades were slow. Winter wheat was steady and quiet. Durum was steady, with offerings small. Corn offerings were moderate and demand was quiet to fair. Basis was steady. Oats were quiet and steady, with of- ferings small. Rye offerings were small and de-|Tob. Products mand was quiet for poor, good for choice. Barley was in fair demand, but me- dium grades were easy to 1 cent lower. Price range was 65 to 72 cents.
