Ward Named Head The assemblage extended a vote of i thanks to M. 8. Ward, principal of } Valley City high school, for his efforts in or the loop, and unani- mously named him as its first presi- dent. J. H. Colton, Minot high school principal, was named vice president. A. O. Elstad, Jamestown, was elected secretary-treasurer. All officers were named ‘Williston, a perennial challenger for high school football honors in this state, was not among the schools in- vited. In view of the great record compiled by the Williams county school in the past decade, much dis- cussion was provoked as to the feasi- bility of inviting the western North Dakota school into the conference as @ charter member. Carried Over Year A long discussion revealed that too few of the conference schools were in @ position to finance games with the great teams coached by Joe Cutting. In view of this the group went on record as favoring carrying the Wil- liston problem over to the next. an- nual meeting of the group, it being found ‘not expedient to include Wil- liston as a member of the conference at this time. A letter from Superintendent J. H. , Williston, to Superintendent. G. W. Hanna, Valley City, setting forth reasons why Williston should be included as a member of the loop, was read, but the group could not see its way clear to provide Williston with the number of games to make it eligible for the loop title. Geographical isolation of Williston from conference schools was the main topic of the debate, No FOR RENT—Two room unfurnished apartment. Call at 421 Ninth street. Phone 1353-M.
