Corwin, president of the Association of Commerce, Mayor A. P. Lenhart, Governor Walter Mad- dock, Col. W. A. Alfonte, Fort Lin- coln commandant; Adjutant-General Angus Fraser of the N. Sousa and his organization will arrive at 7 p. m. the evening of Oct- ober 1 from Dickinson where he will give a matinee concert. The tour is in celebration of Sousa’s 50th year as a wielder of the baton. Democratic Nominee Supporters Ready to Report on Membership Burleigh county supporters of Al- fred E. Smith and Joe T. Robinson, Democratic candidates for president and vice president, respectively, will hold their initial meeting at the Bur- leigh county court house tonight at 8 o'clock. The Smith-Robinson club was formed at a meeting Thursday night, when officers were elected. Business before the meeting to- night will be committee reports on membership, and the reception plans for the New York governor when he comes here Wednesday to greet voters and supporters. Auto Stolen from Streets of Barton Burleigh county officers have been asked to aid in the search for a car stolen Saturday night at Barton. Robert Deseret, the owner, re- ported to Barton officers that the machine was stolen from where he had parked it on the streets. He discovered his loss one hour later, and spread the alarm. The local officers, as well as of- ficials in nearby counties, are asked to aid in the search for the automo- ae and the apprehension of the Forks ‘Stick Up’ Artist Busy Man Grand Forks, N. D., Sept. 24.—(P) —Two holdups which police befieve were staged by the same man caused losses totaling $155 in cash and two watches Sunday. PAIR ARRESTED IN BIG ROBBERY Suspect Pair Being Held in Connection With - Million Dollar Bond Theft Boston, Sept. 24.—(#)—Two sus- pects were being held by the police today in connection with the theft of securities valued at $800,000 to $1,000,000 from a safe in the office of Howard Clark Davis, Boston financier and mining engineer. The robbery was disclosed as a resuit of the recovery of $25,000 worth of bonds when the two men were captured by police after a chase through the south end. Police traced the bonds to their owner, who is now in Winnipeg. When inquiry was made at Mr. Davis’ office, his secretary, Miss Emma Bennett of Winthrop, re- called that a small strong box was missing from a safe. She said that she had not been alarmed when she noticed that the box was not in its usual place because she thought Mr. Davis might havc taken it with him. D., Sept. 24.—The Sioux Falls college Stylus, student publication of Sioux Falls college, will conduct a straw vote among students to determine the most pop- ular presigential candidate, it has been announced by G. Ted Kellogg, editor of the paper. In the vote The Stylus will cooperate with student dailies and weeklies over the entire United States. Ballots will be published in The Stylus and the vote from Sioux Falls college will be turned into a national headquarters of the poll with the results from other schools.
