. : oRSgae » ES HUNDREDS 70 GREET TRAIN AT STERLING Dairy-Poultry Special Due There Tomorrow—Sports Program—Free Movies ze crowds of farmers and their families from the entire eastern Part of Burleigh county are expect- ed at Sterling tomorrow to attend the special program of the Dairy- Poultry special train which is now touring North Dakota and which is scheduled to'reach Sterling at 2:45 p.m. The train will remain there until 5:15, Sterling merchants have arranged bargains of especial interest to iarmers and an attractive sports Program has been planned, with events for both the youngsters and the older folks. The sports pro- gram will start at 1 p. m., and will continue until the arrival of the spedial train. As a special educational feature, the committee will give away 400 baby ehicks to winners in an essay contest conducted among children between the ages of 12 and 18. The essays are on subjects connected with poultry raising and dairying, and 18 were submitted to County Agent A. R. Miesen here this morn- ing. Others Get be received tater. Many Exhibits on Train The special train carries 15 head of dairy animals and a large number of chickens and turkeys. Actual birds on feeding tests will show the comparative growth. Cows and their daughters with cow testing records will show the effect of breeding to good pure bred bulls. A model poultry house and a brooder house will be part of the display. Preserved specimenc of the var- ious poultry diseases will be on dis- play and farmers are urged to bring diseased birds in for post-mortem examination. Speakers on subjects concerning dairying will include Prof. J. R. Dice and A. M. Challey, while Prof. O. A. Barton, Dr. W. H. Lapp and O. J. Weisner will be the poultry special- ists on the program. Free Movie and Dance After the special train leaves the Sterling business meen will be hosts at a free motion picture show at the Sterling hall. This will be fol- lowed by a dance. H. E.
