MONDAY, APRIL 9, 1928 - THE BISMARCK TRIBUNE a ass PAGE FIVE North Dakota Ranks High in Auxiliary Organization Drive According to a recent report from the American Legion Auxiliary headquarters in Indianapolis, North Dakota has third place in the list of states that have formed new units during March. Wisconsin leads the list with sev- ’2n units, while New York and Pennsylvania are second with five. California and Minnesota have three; Alabama, Connecticut, Mis- “souri, Nebraska, New Jersey and . Washington, two; Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tenn- essee, West Virginia, Michigan, Ohio and Oregon, one unit each. The United States and its posses- sions now boast 6,450 units of the Auxiliary. Mrs. C. L. Young Is Named Secretary of Independent Workers Mrs. C. L, Young was elected secretary of the executive commit- tee of Independent women at a meeting held Friday at Fargo. Mrs. J. B. Cooley of Grand Férks is chair- man of the group. i Plans are being made to carry ‘on a campaign among the women of the state in behalf of the Inde- pendent and regular Republican candidates who have been indorsed for the June primary. These plans are in the hands of the executive committce, named at a recent meet- ing held in this city, which includes Mrs. A. E. Jones of Lisbon, Mrs. C. L. Young, Bismarck; Mrs. Eugene Fenelon, Devils Lake; Mrs. J. B, Cooley, Grand Forks. Members of the committee voted to add four more members to the committee and the names will be announced at a later date.
