A new body building plant and a new forge shop, complet- ed this year and now in operation, Mg effected marked savings. He said that the service costs of the Whippet for the past 19 months had been so low that the list price on the car need not include heavy allowances for service and replace- ments. Production of the Whippet with the improvements, which will be in- cluded despite the new low prices, is deliveries are promised at all dealer points early in January. While the new prices will not be wertised until January 6, Mr. ‘illys stated that they would be re- luced by a striking margin and will high speed. Low center of gravity obtained by the use of low swung bodies was a characteristic of the Whippet which has since been fol- lowed by other light car manu- facturers. MARY LEWIS 70 GIVE PROGRAM |Male Chorus of 16 Voices and, an Orchestra to Assist in Radio Broadcast A model radio program will be presented Sunday night, January 1, when Mary Lewis, famed soprano of the Metropolitan Opera, will be as- sisted by a male chorus of 16 voices and an orchestra. This program is model in that it has been specially designed to ‘meet the demands of the radio listening public as expressed in a recent cen- sus of thousands of radio owners who, nine out of ten, expressed a preference for music, one in five specifying “fine music,” with a 44 per cent preference for the male quartet. The lovers of male quartets will find a musical treat in this glee club which is more than a quartet — a double octette made up of New York's famous University Glee Club members as selected by Feinald Werrenrath, the popular baritone. Mary Lewis will appeal particu- larly to those who have continued to commend the unusual opportunity which this series of Sunday night concerts affords to hear the world’s greatest artists. It will be a musical program en- tirely, in compliance with the de- mands of nine out of ten listeners, for whom the orchestra will present selections under the direction of Na- han Franko, former conductor of {the Metropolitan Opera orchestra, with which he was connected for a quarter of a century. This program will be broadcast at the usual hour, 8:15 p. m., central standard time, through twenty-three associated stations.
