And asaresult some of us have just about used up our coal supply. We understand that a number of Bald- winites have clubbed together for a car of coal, as it is almost impossible to get to the mines. ‘ Some of our popular old-time fid- dlers will take part in the old-time fiddlers’ contest to be staged from the Mandan station KGCU at an early date. The contest is being sponsored by the Mandan business men and suitable prizes will be of- fered to stimulate interest in the contest. Carl Bagley, the operator of the station, reports a number of old-time fiddlers already booked, and wants everyone who knows of any to send in their names. Local folks have suggested the name of Elmer Ames, well-known old-time fiddler. Elmer was popular as an old-time fiddler some 20 years ago.
