“PAGE TWO 2EGEseeesy _ GRAIN : LIVESTOCK : WHEAT PRICES G0 DOWNWARD Setbacks in Liverpool Quota- tions Are Cause—Corn and Oats Also Lower Chicago, Nov. 25.— (AP) —With cutting of wheat in the southern sections of Argentina expected to start within 30 days, wheat prices here went decidedly lower. Reports of favorable weather and increased offerings from there were current. Strength which developed in corn values failed to stimulate any last- » ing upturns in wheat. “Wheat closed unsettled one cent 0 1 3-8 cents net lower; corn at 1-8 cent to 3-8 @ 1-2 cent advanc oats a shade off to 1-8 @ 14 gain; = provisions unchanged to 15 & 17 cents down. Auspicious harvest weather was reported today both in Argentina and Australia, and the bearish ef- fect was emphasized by word that offerings of new Argentina wheat had become larger, although there was 3 to 66 pence decline for De- © cember and January shipments. Be- sides Argentina exports last week totaled 1,750,000 bushels against > $10,000 bushels the previous weck, 263,000 bushels a year ago. ‘Aside from more favorable har- yest conditions in Argentina, the wheat market here was influenced by knowledge that the Argentine yield this season is the largest on Tecord and by assertions that Can- ada has been supplying the bulk of wheat exports from North America since November 1.
