Prices gradually worked to higher levels with the most rapid advance effective at Chicago where fancy butter was in exceptionally light supply and other grades were none too plentiful. Business in gen- eral on all markets was quite satis- factory to both the receivers and the jobbers. The firmness and price advance was confined prineipally to the bet- ter grades of “whole milk” butter although the price on centralized cars advanced in sympathy, In spite of the light supplies avail- able on the various markets the re- ceipts at the four markets were . practically the same as for the pre- vious week.
