Originally schedu Saturday, the meet wa uhead on account of field: x of the men who will make the have already. been named and i will be chosen today THE BISMARCK TRIBUNE - and tomorrow by Coach Harold Col- lins, Men named are Benser, who will runin the mile ahd ‘the half; Gordon Landers, in the quarter, half, and high hurdles; Sell, in the hun- dred and 220; Peterson, in the 220, uarter and broad jump; Shipley, i the javelin and high jump; Fred Landers in the 220, high and low hurdles. Seven or cight men are to leave Thursday for Grand Forks,.to take part in the annual University of North Dakota meet. “Among those who are expected to go ate Lofthouse, Wutzke, Davis, Spriggs, Otaon, Paris, Ward and Brown. Preliminaries are to be held Friday morning and after- noon and finals Saturday. Bismarck Has Good Chance Bismarck has a good opportunity to annex a number of points in this meet and, from all indications, het- ter ifs record in the A.C. meet last! Saturday. In the high jump, Loft- house took only second place in the A. G meet, with the high mark 5 feet 2% inches, while in the Capital City meet he established anew rec- ord by jumping 5 feet 6% inches, If he is back*in form, he should be able to garner a goodly number of points for Bismarek in this event. Wutzke took first in the mile at Fargo and came in second in the half, so that chances for points, in these events are excellent, Spriggs, in the pole vault and possibly the high jump, may. place for points. In the Slope meet, chances are als6 good for Bismarck to place, although the tracksters will meet. formidable oppostition from Dickinson and some of the other western towns. Interest Is High in Boxing Card Much ‘interest is being taken in the boxing card to be held at the city auditorium the night of May 30 for the benefit of the Bismarek baseball team, according to those in charge. This card, which will consist of 28 rounds of boxing, is an exceptionally good one. Paul Seidels ahd Jimmy Dugan, the local boxers on the card, are working out daily and are rapidly getting into form. Since the card was announced, the management has been flooded with inquiries and if it is patronized as it should be, other cards on a larger se@le may be attempted, although it is doubtful if a card with more ac- tion than this one will show could possibly be arranged. , Early Player With N. Y. Giants Dead Worcester, Mass., May 17.—(/P)— Patrick J. Murphy, 70,-one of the few surviving members of the New York Giants when it won its first world championship in 1888, is dead.
