The new bill, sponsored by Seni tor W. S. Whitman, Grand Forks county, would require that all firms selling malt extracts or sugars first obtain a license from the attorne: general, a tax placed on the malt produets. The first measure, introduced by Senator Fred Van Camp, Pembina county, was defeated on the floor of the senate following a divided report by the temperance committee.
