W. Scott, to Mr. Donald O. Nye, third son of Mr. and Mrs. I. R. Nye of Janesville, was solemnized Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents, 323 Seventh street. The bride was becomingly gowned in a lovely frock of flowered laven- der chiffon. Her arm bouquet was Yof ophelia roses. Miss Margaret McGarvey was maid of honor to Miss Scott and Edgar Scott, brother of the bride, served as best man. The ceremony, a short. ring service, was impressively read by Rev. Walter E. Vater of the Meth- odist Episéopal church in the pres- ence of the immediate families of the couple. The bride has been employed at the Golden Rule Store for some time and has a great many friends in social circles throughout the city. Mr. Nye is employed by the State League paper. Following a honeymoon at unknown points Mr. and Mrs. Nye will be at home in Bismarck after June 15. Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Nye of Coopers- town were out-of-town guests. A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents fol- lowing the ceremony. Covers were laid for eighteen. MISS LAHR PRESENTED PUPILS IN RECITAL Saturday afternoon at her -home, 68 Avenue B, Miss Lucile Lahr pre- sented her class of twenty pupils in recital.. The mothers of the pupils were guests. Violin selections by Miss Ruth Clausen and readings by Miss Phyllis Rosen lent an enjoyable variety to the program. The piano pupils gave an excellent recital which proved very popular with the guests. PAN HELLENIC TO HAVE LUNCH- EO The Pan Hellenic will be entertain- éd Thursday at high noon with a luncheon at the Grand Pacific hotel. At the close of the games a course luncheon was served. ENTERTAIN WIVES AT DINNER Mr. Ed. Lahr, Mr. H. F. Keller, Mr. A. J. Arnot, Mr. John Larsen, Mr. R. EF. Wenzel and Mr. H. E. Shearn were hosts to their wives at a delightful six o'clock dinner party Saturday evening at the Grand Paci- fic hotel. After dinner the club members attended a show at the El- tinge and following the theatre went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Lahr where an enjoyable evening of “| bridge was spent. SUCCESSFUL RECITAL Miss Helen Stabler, pupil of Mrs. B. L. Whitson, was heard in recital at the Elks club Sunday afternoon. Miss Stabler, who has a charming personality, refreshing and modest and yet well poised at the played artistically and in excellent style. Perhaps the two outstanding numbers were the Chopin Ballad and the Paganini-Liszt Etude. Miss Steen, who is studying vocal with Mrs. Scheffer, assisted Miss Stabler with two numbers. Miss Steen hds a voice of lovely velvety quality and has excellent diction. Her numbers were enjoyed, as were the artistie and sympathetic accompani- ments played by Miss Mabel Aaberg. COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES AT ST. MARY'S Monday evening at 8 o’clock St. Mary's High School will have its baccalaureate services for the gradu- ates. The services will be held in the auditorium. Commencement ex- ercises will be held Friday night at the school at which time the diplo- mas will be presented.
