ot THURSDAY, APRIL 9, 1925 Social and Personal i AN ENSEMBLE | L. T. L. Elect Officers and Committees Cofducting their election with ad- mirable, businesslike procedure, the thirty I. T, L. members present at yesterday afternoon's meeting in the Baptist church voted on officers and committees. Mercedes Pitzer, was chosen presi- dent; Esther Wilson, vice-president; Emma King, recording secretary; Dorothy Butterwick, corresponding secretary; Joyce Newton, treasurer, and Stella Maison, evangelistic su- perintendent. The look-out committee appointed by the president*consists of: Phyllis Olson, Winifred Haggerty, Theo. Vet- tel, Thomas Dohn, and Arthur Nor- um. On the visiting committee are: Willow Belle Matscheck, Russell Ar- net, Leslie Walla and Betty Jones. Plans are being made for a medal contest.. Pupils of the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades will be taken into the L. T. L.’ membership. An original story was read by Dor- othy Kennelly, ‘the theme being “What Happened to a Boy Who Smoked.” VISITING FROM RYDER Attorney H. E. WEDNESDAY STUDY CLUB HAS NEW MEMBERS At yesterday’s meeting of the Wednesday Study Club held at the home of Mrs. Earl Draper, Mrs. S. Johnson read a paper on “History— Revival and Importance of the Amer- ican Merchant Marine,” and Mrs, W. H. Bodenstab presented a report on “The Salvage of Sunken Treasures.” Topics in brief were also discussed. Three new members, Miss Margaret Frank fox Welch, Miss Hazel Nielson, and Miss|made.
