Playmakers’ To Compete in State Contest The Bismarck High School Junior Playmakers, a member group of a statewide dramatic organization, are planning to send representatives to Grand Forks during the week ending May 23 to participate in the play pro- duction contest there én which about twenty chapters will compete. The one-act play to be given by the Bis- marck Playmakers has not yet been selected. The expense of sending a cast of probably four members to Grand Forks will be met from funds raised during the past winter by the Junior Playmakers’ production here. THURSDAY MUSICAL CLUB MEETS The Thursday Musical Club met yesterday afternoon at the Elks Hall, with Mrs. E. H. L. Vesperman as hostess. After the business session the program was as follows, with Mrs. L. R. Priske as leader: Vocal: “I Hear You Calling Me,” Marshall, Mrs. J. A. Larson; piano: “Romance,” Rubenstein, and “The Swan,” Saint-Saens, Mrs. M. Mor- ris; vocal: “Habanera” from Car- men, Bizet, Mrs. J. L. Hughes; quar- tet: “Serenade,” Schubert, Mesdames R. A, Tracey, B. Harris, J. P. French and Miss E. Jones, Round table discussion followed on the sub- ject of “Acoustics in Music.” The Club then adjourned to Mrs. Vesperman’s home, where, after roli call answered by musical current events, lunch was served by the hostess. JUNIOR MUSICAL CLUB MEETS The Junior Musical Club met last evening at the studio of Mrs. E. L. Whitson. Lucy Zvorist talked on the life of Chopin; Rakkel Lee gave a description of his compositions; Vera Person played Preludes Nos. 21 and 22; Marys Lahr, Prelude No. 3: Frances Nuessle, Scherzo, and Mabel Aaberg, Nocturne, ROWLEY RUSTLERS HAVE PARTY The Rowley Rustlers entertained club members and girl friends at a party last Tuesday at the Methodist Church parlors: After playing games, a taffy pull was enjoyed.
