. 4 | SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 1924 COOPERATION INN. D, ASKED | BY A. G. SORLIE Governor-Elect Believes That! Mill and Elevator Can be | Made Success TO OPERATE B. OF N. D.; and Forks, N. D. Sorlie, Governor-elect of North D kota, today issued the following | statement: { “I am convinced that we rhave | now, once for all, eliminated bitter | partisan strife from North Dakota | and that we can cooperate harmon: | iously for the welfare of the state. | “Every mother’s son of us in| North Dakota are farmers, so we must ull pull together to secure for | our products what they are fairly | worth. We shall be growing wheat for 40 years to come and’ for that reason we should get, a fair value for our wheat. In this state more: | over we have super-wheat, which | should bring from 25¢ to 40 cents | more per bushel than the sbft wheat | raised in more southern districts. Until now our wheat has been used in Minneapolis for blending but from now on let us see to it that the buyers of gluten wheat realize that North Dakota is the only state in which they can get it.” “Let's begin to sell our ideas to other people instead of having others sell theirs to us. All that has been generally known about us in North Dakota so far is that we are an archists, Bolshevists and free lovers | and then people on the outside have heard about our snowstorms. “We have the Bank of North Da- kota and the state mill and elevator they are a part of our state institu tions and they can and should be} made a success. Above all the: should be operated for the benefit of the people of North Dakota as we are all interested in North Da- kota. We are all farmers directly bf “I am not in favor of ‘any addi- tional experiments along the lines! of state ownership at this time but I hope the .other members of the Industrial Commission, whoever they ! may be, will lend their cooperation | to make these institutions a suc- | cess,” First Church of Christ, Scientist Gor. 4th St. & Ave. C.
