RICHHOLP | FOR COUNTY TREASURER To the Voters of Burleigh County: | The undersigned, one of the nominees to be voted for at the ensuing election to be held November 4th next, solicits your support for the office of County Treasurer. Not being able to sec all the voters and as the final word of a candidate before the election soon to be held, 1 repeat that if elected to this office I will give to the duties of the office my personal attention and best efforts and will appreciate the support of each voter, who may believe me worthy of his or her C. BERTSCH, Jr. | STATE SENATOR 27TH DISTRICT — BURLEIGH COUNTY Mr. Bertsch has been a resident of Burleigh County for 84 years, coming here when a boy with his father, and foilowed the blacksmith trade, later entering the imp|cment business, and for the past few years has been in the automobile business. Having served in official capacitics before he is well and favorably known as a true representative of the wishes of the people. He has been urged to enter the present campaign and is enlist- ing the support of all factions because he is known per- sonally to most voters in the county and they have con- fidence in his ability and integrity. I then owed over $45,000.00 real estaie taxes, the Bismarck Gas Company owed over $15,000.60 of personal taxes, the Hughes Electric Company owed about $40,000.00 of personal taxes (the present Sta Attorney Mr. E. S. Allen, having assisted in collect about half of the Hughes Electric Company personal tax since his election two years ago.) Why during ali that time did not McCurdy “use all the power vesicd in that office” to make Ed Patterson, Hughes Electric Com- pany, the Bismarck Gas Compiiny, and others, pay their taxes. Everyone knows that more than half of the tax payers were then delinquent. He now promises to make me pay my taxes. Why not promise to make the Hughes Electric Company pay its personal tax of over $21,000.00, and the Bismarck Gas Company pay its personal tax of $20,000.00 owed by them? Why pick on me? Why not promise to make every one pay their delinquent taxes? McCurdy made no effort during the two years he was State’s Attorney to collect ANY TAXES. As State’s Attorney he has never collected one dollar of taxes and NEVER brought ANY action to collect any taxes dur- ing ALL the times he has been State’s Attorney. My taxes are now in Court, as McCurdy knows, and I have property and money to pay them when the Courts finally decide what the true Amount is. McCurdy wants to make me an issue in the cam- paign in which I have taken no part. EDWARD G. PATTERSON. 3 worece. pooooroes POL OC CLO ELO COTS LOCO LEI OO CODED ECE LOETOOES.
