"Social and Personal Community » Council Will Hold Meeting The regular meeting of the Wo- men’s Community Council will be held in the Rest Room of the Ma- sonic Temple, Saturday, October 4, at 3:30 o'clock. . Miss Cashel will present the plans and purpose of the Red Cross Annual Roll Call. Miss Runey, county super- intendent of schools, will talk on the Parent and Teacher Association. The National Parent Teacher Association has chosen North Dakota as one of the demonstration states, in which to put on an intensive campaign this year, All delegates please take notice, Convention Meetings Are Interesting The sessions of the third day of the convention being held at James- town were opened by a morning watch with Rev. C. W. Finwall of Fargo giving the address. The con- vention business was discussed after which Doctor Petty and Mrs. Good- man gave addresses. A quiet hour was conducted by Doctor Stilwell. The afternoon session took up the work of ‘missions. Dr. F. E, Stock- ton. General Superintendent, gave a report. The treasurer, S, C. Hen- aiickson, gave a report. The con- ventjon field workers and missionar- ies spoke. Edwin Phelps gave the address. A quiet hour led by Rev. A. Sterling Barner followed. In the evening the convention ban- quet will take place followed by ad- dresses by Doctor Stilwell and Doc- tor Petty, Saturday will close the sessions. Playmakers To Meet This Evening There will be a meeting of the Junior Playmakers this evening at seven-thirty in the assembly room of the High School. Election of Officers will be held, and plans will be made for events to take place this coming year. A program will be presented consisting of several musical selections and readings. The French Club and Debate Club have been abolished and the Play- makers organization, is at present the only organization recognized in the high school by the school board or faculty. The customary Senior Class Play has also been abolished and Seniors wishing to appear in a three act play this ycar will be afforded the opportunity to appear in the play to be staged by the Playmakers early in November, This play wi be staged for the purpose of raising money to finance the trip of a group of Playmakers from Bismarck High School to the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks, where they expect. to enter a play in. the annual Play- maker convention there, in compe- tition with other schools. Since there will be competition at this convention every playmaker ex- pects the support of the students of Bismarck High School and citizens of Bismarck, as it is a worthy or- ganization. and deserves everyone's support as well as any athletic or- ganization.
