Quain, her daughter Miss Lucille and her guest Miss Hildred Sperry, Mrs. John Whelan, Mrs. Grace Snyder, and Mrs. Herman Bat- zer of Hazelton, spent several days in the Badlands last week, Mrs. Sny- der and Mrs. Batzer returning on Friday, while the others came back on: Saturday, - Two days were spent at the I'eace- ful Valley ranch, from where they, went by carriage ard horseback through the petrified. forest, a trip of about 18 miles,. Anderson, instructor of the National Guard, returned to- day from Lake City, Minnesota, where he has been as instructor at the Minnesota National Guard camp. He will remain here a short time and then leave for Fort Benning, Georgia. Capt. W. M, Spann has also returned to the city from Ft. Snelling, where he was an instructor in the reserve officers camp.
