Appropriate gifts were given to each of the women. The after- Noon was spent in sewing and visiting. Refreshments were serv- ed in the latter part of the day. Convention Judge and Mrs. Sveinbjorn John- son returned Saturday afternoon from attending the Democratic con- vention, where Mrs. Johnson’ was named national committeewoman from North Dakota: Each state has had one woman representative on the Democratic National com- mittee since 1920. While on their way home, Judge and Mrs. Johnson were guests for a short time of Dr. J. E. Boyle of Ithica, N. Y., where he is on the faculty of Cornell University. Dr. Boyle was formerly head of the department of Eccnomics at the University of North Dakota. Other -places of interest visited by the Johnsons were Washington, Gettysburg, and Buffalo, N. Y. VISITS RELATIVES HERE Miss Majorie Moore of Grand Forks arrived here last night from Valley City, where she attended the tate Epworth league convention. ‘is’ Moore will be the guest of ts fe aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. . W. Moses, where her mother, Mrs: J. G. Moore, is also a guest. A. 0. U. W. MEETING The A. O. U. W. lodge will have a meeting tomorrow night at the A. O. U. W. hall.
